IMGadgets Electric Scooter and E-Mobility Product Limited Warranty Policy
1. Limited Warranty Coverage
IMGadgets warrants that its electric scooters, electric bikes, and other e-mobility products purchased directly from IMGadgets or from an authorized retailer will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal personal consumer use for the applicable warranty period listed below, beginning on the original date of purchase.
If a covered defect arises during the applicable warranty period, IMGadgets may, at its sole discretion:
- repair the defective product or component;
- provide new or refurbished replacement parts;
- replace the product with the same model; or
- replace the product with a comparable model of equal or similar value.
Warranty service is available only to the original purchaser, unless otherwise required by applicable law. All warranty claims must include valid proof of purchase and the product’s serial number. IMGadgets reserves the right to deny any claim if the serial number is missing, altered, defaced, unreadable, or cannot be matched to the product.

Normal battery aging is not considered a defect. Gradual reduction in battery capacity, run time, range, or performance due to regular use, charging cycles, age, storage conditions, or temperature is considered normal wear unless IMGadgets determines that the battery has a manufacturing defect.
3. What This Warranty Covers
This Limited Warranty covers only defects in materials or workmanship that occur during normal intended use and proper maintenance of the product.
In general, a covered defect is a failure caused by the way the product or component was manufactured, and not by misuse, accident, improper assembly, improper storage, environmental damage, unauthorized repair, or normal wear and tear.
4. **What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Tires, inner tubes, brake pads, and other normal wear items
- Normal wear and tear from regular use
- Cosmetic damage, including scratches, scuffs, dents, discoloration, paint wear, or non-structural surface rust
- Damage caused by accidents, collisions, drops, abuse, neglect, improper riding, or improper storage
- Damage caused by failure to follow the user manual, assembly instructions, safety warnings, or maintenance guidelines
- Damage caused by unauthorized modifications, disassembly, tampering, or repairs performed by anyone not approved by IMGadgets
- Damage caused by the use of non-approved chargers, batteries, parts, or accessories
- Damage caused by overloading, exceeding the maximum weight limit, stunt riding, jumping, racing, commercial use, rental use, fleet use, delivery use, or competition use
- Damage caused by improper charging practices, including overcharging, use of damaged outlets, or charging in unsafe conditions
- Products with removed, altered, or unreadable serial numbers
- Products purchased from unauthorized sellers, private sellers, auction platforms, or second-hand marketplaces, unless otherwise required by law
- Loss of use, loss of time, inconvenience, loss of income, or any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, to the extent permitted by law
- Theft of the product
- Use of third-party apps, software, or accessories that alter speed, power output, or performance voids the warranty
5. **Water Damage and Environmental Exposure
IMGadgets e-mobility products contain sensitive electrical and electronic components. Unless a product is specifically advertised and documented by IMGadgets as having a water-resistance rating, it should be considered not waterproof.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by:
- Riding in heavy rain
- Riding through standing water, puddles, flooded areas, snow, slush, mud, sand, or excessive dust
- Submerging the product in water
- Pressure washing, hose spraying, steam cleaning, or using high-pressure cleaning equipment
- Corrosion caused by moisture, salt, chemicals, or improper storage
- Long-term outdoor storage
- Exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, freezing temperatures, or prolonged direct sunlight
Any water-resistance rating, if provided, applies only to limited exposure and does not guarantee protection from all moisture-related damage.
6. Proper Use and Maintenance
To remain eligible for warranty coverage, customers must use, charge, store, and maintain the product in accordance with the user manual and all safety instructions.
Customers are responsible for:
- performing routine inspections and tightening fasteners where necessary;
- maintaining proper tire pressure, where applicable;
- keeping the product reasonably clean and dry;
- charging the battery according to the provided instructions;
- storing the product in a safe, dry, and temperature-appropriate environment; and
- stopping use immediately if the product appears unsafe or develops a serious fault.
Continued use of a product after a defect, warning sign, crash, or abnormal behavior such as abnormal noise, vibration, warning lights, or sudden performance changes, has been identified may void warranty coverage for any resulting damage.
Guidelines for Storing Lithium-Ion Batteries
Cold temperatures can negatively impact lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery performance and lifespan. Proper storage and care during winter or cold weather will help prevent deterioration and ensure longevity.
1. Preparation Before Storage
- Charge to 40–60%: Lithium-ion batteries should not be stored fully charged or completely drained. A charge level of 40-60% is ideal to prevent capacity loss.
- Turn Off and Disconnect: If the battery is part of a device, turn off the device and disconnect the battery to prevent slow discharge.
- Clean the Battery: Wipe the battery terminals and casing with a dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Ensure the battery is completely dry before storage.
2. Choosing the Right Storage Location
- Store in a Temperature-Controlled Environment: Keep the battery in a location where temperatures stay between 40°F and 70°F (8°C - 21°C). Avoid exposing it to freezing temperatures, as Li-ion batteries can suffer permanent damage if stored below 32°F (0°C).
- Keep Away from Moisture and Heat Sources: Store batteries in a dry place, away from humidity, direct sunlight, or heaters. Excess moisture can cause corrosion, and heat can degrade the battery cells.
- Use an Insulated Container (If Necessary): If storing the battery in a garage, shed, or vehicle, place it in an insulated box or thermal case to regulate temperature fluctuations.
3. Proper Battery Storage Practices
- Avoid Storing Directly on Cold Surfaces: Place the battery on a wooden shelf or inside a cabinet rather than directly on concrete or metal, as cold surfaces can accelerate temperature drops.
- Prevent Contact with Metal Objects: Keep batteries away from metal objects like keys, coins, or tools to prevent accidental short-circuiting.
- Store in a Fireproof Bag (Optional): For extra safety, store batteries in a LiPo-safe bag or fireproof storage case to reduce fire risk.
4. Periodic Maintenance
- Check Battery Charge Every 2-3 Weeks: If storing the battery for an extended period, check its charge level periodically. Discharge it to 10%, and recharge to 40-60% before storing the battery again.
- Avoid Recharging in Cold Conditions: If the battery has been stored in a cold place, allow it to warm up to room temperature before charging. Charging a cold Li-ion battery can lead to plating of lithium metal, which can cause short circuits and permanent damage.
5. Reusing the Battery After Winter
- Inspect for Damage: Before use, check for bulging, cracks, leaks, or corrosion. Do not use a damaged battery.
- Allow the Battery to Reach Room Temperature: If stored in a cold environment, let the battery warm up to 50-70°F (12-21°C) before using or charging.
- Test the Battery Before Use: If possible, use a battery tester or the device’s built-in diagnostics to check battery health before reinserting into a device.
6. Final Tips
- Always store lithium-ion batteries in a cool, dry place
- Never expose them to freezing temperatures for extended periods
- Keep them at 40–60% charge for long-term storage
- Avoid charging cold batteries immediately after retrieval from storage
By following these steps, you can significantly extend the lifespan of your lithium-ion batteries and maintain their performance throughout the winter or from storage.
7. Remote Diagnostics and Troubleshooting
Before approving a warranty claim, IMGadgets may require the customer to provide information reasonably necessary to assess the issue, including:
- proof of purchase;
- order number;
- serial number;
- clear photos or videos showing the issue;
- a description of how and when the issue occurred; and
- completion of basic troubleshooting steps requested by technical support.
IMGadgets may delay, limit, or deny warranty service if requested information is not provided or if reasonable troubleshooting steps are refused.
8. Inspection and Warranty Determination
All warranty claims are subject to review and approval by IMGadgets. IMGadgets reserves the right to inspect the product, the affected component, and any supporting diagnostic materials before determining whether the issue is covered under warranty.
If IMGadgets determines that the issue is not caused by a manufacturing defect, the claim may be denied. In that case, repair or replacement options may still be offered at the customer’s expense.
9. Shipping, Returns, and Service Costs
For approved warranty claims, IMGadgets may choose to send replacement parts, provide repair guidance, request return of the defective part, or request return of the product for inspection or service.
Unless otherwise required by law or agreed to by IMGadgets:
- the customer is responsible for packaging returned items safely;
- the customer will be responsible for shipping costs to send the product or component to IMGadgets or its service provider after 90 days of purchase;
- IMGadgets will cover the shipping cost of approved replacement parts till 90 days from purchase and customers will be responsible for shipping after that; and
- if a returned item is found not to have a covered defect, the customer may be charged for return shipping, inspection, diagnostic, restocking, or handling costs.
IMGadgets is not responsible for damage that occurs during return shipping due to improper packaging by the customer.
10. Installation of Replacement Parts
Some warranty replacement parts may require customer installation. IMGadgets may provide instructions or general guidance, but unless professional service is specifically arranged, the customer is responsible for ensuring that installation is performed correctly and safely.
IMGadgets is not responsible for damage, malfunction, or injury resulting from improper installation by the customer or by an unauthorized third party.
11. Refurbished Products
Refurbished products are covered by a thirty (30) day limited warranty from the refurbished product purchase date, unless a different period is clearly stated on the product listing or invoice. Cosmetic scratches and minor cosmetic chips are not covered under the refurbished product warranty.
Customers must report any issues within that warranty period and provide valid proof of purchase.
12. Warranty for Replacement Parts
Replacement parts supplied under warranty are covered for the longer of:
- the remainder of the original applicable warranty period; or
- ninety (90) days from the date the replacement part is provided.
Replacement of a product or component does not restart or extend the original warranty period for the entire product.
13. Safety Warning and Immediate Stop-Use Requirement
Customers must stop using the product immediately and contact IMGadgets support if the product shows signs of:
- battery swelling;
- smoke;
- burning smell;
- overheating;
- sudden power loss;
- brake failure;
- structural cracking; or
- any other serious safety-related issue.
Continuing to use a product after a serious safety issue becomes apparent may create a risk of injury and may void warranty coverage for any resulting damage.
14. No Other Warranties
Except as expressly stated in this Limited Warranty, IMGadgets disclaims all other warranties, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
Where an implied warranty cannot legally be disclaimed, it will be limited to the duration of this Limited Warranty to the extent permitted by law.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, IMGadgets will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, including loss of use, loss of business, loss of profits, loss of opportunity, or damage to personal property arising from the use of the product or from any breach of this warranty.
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
16. Consumer Rights
This Limited Warranty gives customers specific legal rights. Customers may also have other rights that vary depending on their province, state, or country. This warranty applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law and does not limit any mandatory consumer protection rights.
17. Support Outside the Warranty Period
If the product is no longer within the warranty period, or if the issue is not covered by warranty, IMGadgets will have the discretion of providing service or not.
At IMGadgets, we prioritize delivering an exceptional customer experience, with our dedicated support team based in Canada ready to help you keep your electric scooters, bikes, and other e-mobility products running safely and smoothly.
