It requires a complete construction evaluation, rigorous safety testing, and full compliance with marking, labeling, and user instruction requirements. In short, a UL 2272-certified hoverboard has been independently verified to meet a demanding set of electrical safety benchmarks.

• Fire resistance testing, including a 20mm end product flame test that determines how well the device resists ignition.
